Art Masters

Art Masters is a PTA sponsored interactive art education program in which the students not only learn about Master Artists, but also create art inspired by these artists.

Students are first introduced to each artist at an assembly.  Then, in the classroom, they are introduced to oil pastels, water color crayons, drawing chalk, paints, and how to use each tool as an artist.  A professional art teacher helps the students execute the projects, and these pieces of art are brought home for parents to treasure!

Six Master Artists will be studied during the school year:

Sept. 6: Escher
Oct. 17: Magritte
Oct. 29: Audubon
Feb. 12: Kandinsky
March 7: Nevelson
April 8: Murals

Celebration Books

Celebration Book Club is a chance to celebrate your child’s birthday, half-birthday, graduation, special accomplishment, or favorite holiday by dedicating a new book to our school library!

Your student will select a new book from a wonderful collection of the newest and greatest books, and a bookplate with your child’s name will be permanently placed inside the front cover. The book will be presented to your student either in class (Kindergarten) or at the weekly flag ceremony (Grades 1-5) in the month of the celebration date you choose.

Our Library

We at Oso Grande Elementary are very fortunate to have a PTA-funded librarian on staff 5 days a week!  Miss Bethanie reads to the children during their assigned library times and keeps the books, shelves, and records in tip-top shape!  Our library has become a more beautiful, organized, and welcoming place since she joined us at our school.

Yearbook

One way to always remember the school year is to purchase our Oso Grande Yearbook.  Volunteer parents work hard to capture all the big and little moments throughout the year, in the classrooms and across campus.  You will be able to purchase yearbooks early in 2019.

We would love your help! Please take pictures of your student with their classmates and friends throughout the year.  We are able to accept cell phone photos but tend to have better luck with “real” cameras if you can take pictures with both!

Send your pictures to osograndeyearbook@gmail.com.
