Volunteer Opportunities

There are many ways to get involved, and volunteering for a PTA fundraising event or program is one of the easiest ways to show your support. To join a committee for the 2009-2010 school year, please fill out the interest form found here. You may also contact Heather Redd for more information.

GREEN TEAM

PTA would like to start a committee for those interested in expanding our recycling program and implementing other environmentally-friendly initiatives for Oso Grande. If you'd like more information, please contact Cindy Sherwood.

School Volunteer Requirements and Volunteer Badges

Fingerprinting is required for all 'Tier I' volunteers who have unsupervised contact with students. This includes any volunteers who may work with students without being directly supervised by an employee during the school day. Please note that TB testing is no longer required for volunteers.

'Tier II' volunteers do not require fingerprinting. These are volunteers who do not work directly with students and/or those who are under the supervision of employees at all times (i.e. classroom volunteers who are always in the room with a teacher).

If you are a Tier I volunteer and have already completed fingerprinting, you will be issued a photo ID badge by the district. Information regarding processing badges is listed below.

TIER I VOLUNTEER FINGERPRINTING

The total cost for fingerprinting will be $42.00 and is payable by cash, personal check or money order - no credit cards. You may sign up for an appointment by visiting www.danapointlivescan-notary.com. Volunteers are welcome to contact other LiveScan processing centers for fingerprint clearance.
