Celebration Book Club
Celebration Book Club is a great program that "celebrates" a moment in your child's life...a birthday, "half" birthday, graduation, special accomplishment (new swimmer, piano recital, becoming an older brother/sister, in honor of a special individual) or a favorite holiday with a new book for our school library!Since the school district no longer supplies books to the school library, we need to support programs such as the Celebration Book Club, and the book fairs in order for us to expand it.
Your child will be able to choose a book for the library from books we have purchased for this purpose. At that time we will photograph your child and his/her picture will be displayed in the library. Mrs. Martin, our principal, typically presents the books at the morning Flag Ceremony* on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month. A note or an email will be sent to you to advise you when your child's book will be presented. A template is placed in the front of the book your child has chosen, stating that the book was donated to the library by your child and the reason for the celebration.
The children enjoy being recognized for their particular accomplishment and are able to read and enjoy the book. And when their friends and classmates check out this book in the future, they will know that your child has taken part in expanding the school library.
To participate in this program, please fill out the Order Form, and along with your payment of $20 made out to Oso Grande PTA, return it in an envelope marked "Celebration Book Club" with your child to give to their teacher, or you can leave it in the front office.
Your questions or comments are welcomed at ccrehin@wildblue.net.
